Imprim'Ness is the first festival of printing and illustration arts aiming at highlighting these disciplines by putting forward the cultures of the MENA region while proposing them an opening on the European continent.

The illustration exhibited is part of the theme " Ala Tawla " ( on the table ) highliting the food culture and it's representation by local artists from the region.

Inspiration for this collection: The etymology of traditional and authentic Tunisian dishes, especially those with improbable, absurd or surreal names, have always fascinated me.

Some names of dishes can be complex, suggesting real , surreal or mythical objects, facts or situations. Some of the names are simply a combination of the above elements.

What would these dishes look like if they represented the literal meaning of their names? Such is the purpose of this collection.
